Can you tell me then where Christians and Muslims differ in our faith. I am very interested in this and am not being patronizing. Please explain.

Well the major difference between Islam and Christianity arises from Jesus (Pbuh). Some sects of Christianity believe Jesus (Pbuh) is God, others believe he was only the son of God, and still others believe even different thoughts.

Islam accepts Christ as a True Messenger from God but does not believe Jesus (Pbuh) equal to God. That Jesus never claimed equality with God. Neither do Muslims believe that Jesus is the "literal" son of God. That is, Muslims believe he is the "son of God" in the figurative sense as we are all sons of God but not in the literal.

There are approximately 1.4 Billion Muslims in the world (roughly 20% of humankind). They believe their religion to be the original message of Abraham. Muslims believe that Jesus (Pbuh) was a Muslim, i.e. submitted to God.

Please feel free to ask anything and everything about Islam so that you can better understand it.
