The point is that U.S. securities laws were broken. Whether or not the process works, shorts conspired with media to prevent solv-ex from being able to raise money in a conventional manner. The $105 million debt offering didn't happen because shorts planted the story in the Wall Street Journal in March of 1996, followed by Dan Dorfman, king whore for the shorts, reporting on the following Monday. Why would Cleary, Gottlieb have dropped the offshore Wall Street Journal as a client because of Solv? Conflict of interest? Why was Dan Dorfman dropped from CNBC? Barbara, you were certainly right in the performance of the stock. However, there were factors involved that you are not versed in. My hot rod Lincoln may not stand a chance in a race against Jeff Gordon and Rusty Wallace. But, the rules should be the same for all cars.
