Don and Joe, read the article... agree very intersting. Whenever I read an article like that one it always surprises me that the overall difference is a lot less than you would think, usually it seems to be in that 8% range.

I think the difference is that big caps move slowly but steadily for the most part, while small caps have big run ups and then big declines. So when you look long term the difference between the 2 is only around 8%. If however one could trade that magic 60% in between a market bottom and market top, I think the difference would be quite substantial between the two.
