Agreed, on to productive!

I drove by SkyNet today as I had an appointment in the area. They are located in a commercial park across from Miami International Airport. Getting lost for 45 min. on the wrong side of the airport did not allow me time to stop and chat with anyone without being later for my next meeting. At least I can find them now again!

It looked like a 6-8K SF Office Warehouse setup. Not a sharp uptown place but the proximity to MIA and some major highways. They may not be pretty but they did appear to be active. I took a couple of pictures but would hate to post them and scare anyone off. All the businesses in the area look like this except for FedEx, UPS, etc.... Pretty doesn't count if they're making money, right?

Their vehicles are compact pickups with camper tops. These were also not on the pretty side. The two that moved while I was there sounded like they ran fine. Functional performance would be an appropriate term for the "fleet". I viewed 6 trucks either parked or in transit in my few minuets. If there are more they were on the road.

Many of the packages being dropped off were in SkyNet packaging. They were plastic like the some of the major overnight companies. You can read SkyNet on them from 1/2 a block away. IMHO when a customer uses a company's packaging they are from an established client base. Add one point to the uptown column.

The next point in the uptown column is for the uniforms. All were neat and clearly identifiable as SkyNet employees. It appeared they had two styles, a gray and white striped shirt for the warehouse guys and a blue and white uniform for the couriers. I missed the shirts for the couriers because one of the female couriers had on a skirt! (Sorry ladies it's a reflex) I believe a sharp, easily identifiable uniform would add to a customer's confidence when shipping an important international package.

What I liked the best was the sign, old and faded! Looks like they've been there years! Stability, YEAH!

Well gotta go home for some quality time. Will try to answer any questions later tonite.

Jeff

p.s. How's that for new day, clean slate! <VBG>
