I remember the 1996 action well. Most of my shares were purchased at $13-16.00 so technically, I'm still in the black here.

This is different than summer 1996, IMO, in that I believe SFAM now has a very credible competitor - one that I refer to as the "death star" (aka AMAT).

Still, because half their current stock price is accounted for by cash, I think there is a floor (though I'm not sure how many stories below the current price that floor resides). I really do not like the way their inventory level has bloated up.

I've taken the whole SFAM ride up and down and still can't figure out what to make of this, so I do nothing - neither a buyer or a seller here. They will still be one of the CMP players when the inevitable recovery comes, or so I hope.

I sure do miss our resident expert.
