Thinking Tools Selected By Y2Kplus as Strategic Y2K Risk Assessment Tool

Think 2000 Chosen as Best of Class

MONTEREY, Calif.-July 1, 1998- Thinking Tools, Inc. (NASDAQ:TSIM) today
announced the formation of a strategic relationship under which Y2Kplus,
Inc. has agreed to sell Thinking Tools' Think 2000 product as its "Best
of Class" software simulation product for Year 2000 risk assessment.

Y2Kplus provides a portfolio of software products and outsourcing
services that address issues for Year 2000 and beyond. These offerings
are available both to IT solution providers and IT organizations. The
company researches the market for "best of class" tools and methods that
have been specifically designed for the Year 2000 activities. As a
result, Y2Kplus has chosen Think 2000 as its "best of class" software
solution for Year 2000 risk assessment.

Think 2000 is an interactive business simulation solution that enables
organizations to assess the overall business impact of problems
associated with the Year 2000 date change. The product maps
interdependencies between business functions and technical resources and
simulates possible project plan scenarios. The results provide
executives with answers to questions like: "What should we fix, and
when?" It ultimately helps organizations understand their Year 2000
business risks, prioritize remediation projects and document activities
in the event of audits or litigation.

"As we get closer to the Year 2000, many organizations are moving into
the risk assessment phase of their Year 2000 initiative," said Dave
Ehlke, president of Y2Kplus. "Companies realize they will not complete
their Year 2000 remediation in time and therefore need the capability to
ask important `What if' questions about their portfolio of information
assets. They also need the ability to determine the relative risks
depending on which scenarios they choose. Think 2000 offers our clients
an excellent capability to support their Year 2000 risk assessment
process as they are forced to make critical triage decisions."

"Y2Kplus' selection of Think 2000 as "Best of Breed" Year 2000 risk
assessment tool is a good complement to the company's Year 2000
portfolio offerings," Charlie Isaacs, vice president of engineering,
Thinking Tools. "It is best to understand what systems are most at risk
so that companies can prioritize accordingly. Think 2000 enables
organizations to assess the overall business impact of problems
associated with the Year 2000 date change. It brings long term value to
organizations unlike other Year 2000-only tools, which will have no use
once the Year 2000 projects are completed."
