I have been looking for the definition of "net revenue". It is not listed in my Barrons Dictionary of Business Terms. It was not defined in two college text books ; one an accounting book, the other an investing book. I did see it on a sample income statement (in the accounting book) this is how it was shown:

PETLODGE
INCOME STATEMENT
FOR PERIOD ENDING XX/XX/XX

REVENUE
_________

Boarding Fees 5455.00
______

Net Revenue 5455.00

EXPENSES
____________

Insurance 85.00
Misc 439.00
Rent expense-bldg 1200.00
Rent expense-Comp. 875.00
Supplies-Office 295.00
Supplies-Pet 530.00
Utilities 265.00

TOTAL EXPENSES 3689.00
_________

Net Income 1766.00

I also looked at some income statement's on Edgar, including Microsoft's. Out of the five different companies I looked at, only one used the term. It was not used on the Income statement, it was used in the overview section. It said: "Net revenue for the three months ended March 31, 1998 increased to $24.2 million from $10.0 million in the comparable period ended March 31, 1997". The only way you can figure out what it is referring to on the Income statement is to match the dollar figures. The line item that matched the $24.2 million was "revenue". Based on this information it would appear that revenue, and net revenue are the same. Translation.. you are correct. However, I don't believe that was the intention of GLOW. You know that the only way to get an EPS estimate is to use your estimated "net income" figure. Do you think that GLOW is trying to trick us by playing "word games" ?. They should have used the term net income, but for whatever reason, they didn't. I will email Gary B and ask him if "net revenue" as used in their press release equates to "net income".
