i think it's rather obvious. i can't predict exactly when that will happen, but it *will* happen. i don't go to bookstores anymore, i live in Buenos Aires, Argentina, and i buy all my books at Amazon.com, i can search their wonderful 3 million books' database for as long as i want, it's cheaper, it's faster, i get the newly published books as soon as they come out, in nice editions, and now i buy my CDs at Amazon too, so i don't go to music stores anymore either. same thing with clothes, software, computer hardware, cars (soon), bicycles, tennis-shoes, consumer electronics, etc etc etc, you name it. the internet will crush all non-web based middlemen what will happen to all those stores and shopping malls?? ___ That is an outlandish prediction. Exactly how far in the future are you predicting this?....
