Tide:
The fact that I own at $4 is by no means reason for me to be complacent. I am not; I am as frustrated as you are. However, while I share your frustration, I believe I understand the performance of the stock, & hold ORCL with a longer term view than maybe you. If you happened to jump in to make a quick return, you unfortunately picked the wrong stock; there are better short-term plays out there.
If I garner anything from your comments that I believe are correct, it is that this is a game played by the big boys. As individual investors, we are mere spectators whether you like it or not. Unfortunately, what's important is not what you or I think, but what the guy controlling $100MM+ portfolio thinks.
How does perception change? Well, aside from some fundamental evidence it takes like someone like Rick Sherlund at Goldman or the like to change his current view of the stock. If HE does, the rest of the sheep -- I mean Street -- will follow. Or perhaps a positive article in Barron's detailing how ORCL will return to high-growth status over the next 2 years. Bottom line, the view must change on the playing field, not from the bleachers. |
