Dow Jones Newswires -- July 1, 1998

Schlotzsky's Puts 2Q Net 19c-21c/Share

I tend to agree, the re-statement should be factored into yesterday's close and the new 'very conservative' accounting practices are the likely cause of the reported few cents. The re-statement resulted in the loss of $0.09 - $0.11 cents on the last quarter. A stock you will want to own. IMHO.

AUSTIN, Texas (Dow Jones)--Schlotzsky's Inc. (BUNZ) expects to report second-quarter earnings between 19 cents and 21 cents a share.

In a press release Wednesday, the company also said it expects to report year earnings of between 87 cents and 91 cents a share.

For the second quarter ended June 30, 1997, Schlotzsky's reported earnings of 20 cents a share. For 1997, the company reported earnings of 82 cents a share.

A First Call survey of five analysts estimated the company would earn 24 cents a share in the 1998 second quarter and 94 cents a share for fiscal 1998.

Schlotzsky's franchises quick service restaurants.
