How SGI stock is doing will depend mainly on how SGI as a company is doing, not on MIPS. My guess is that SGI will divest fully of MIPS in the next year in private sales to companies which may want to have a board seat at MIPS or influence their product development in some way (e.g. settop box makers, game console makers, etc). I have no inside knowledge of that -- this is just gut feel based on what's been communicated publically.
