Dear Chuck; You are right - the stock is dirt cheap at the moment. It was cheap at 6.60 on Tuesday and even cheaper yesterday at 6.35. I suppose I should have done more DD before getting involved. The only research I had access to was John Hainey of Yorkton's report (DEC '97); HSBC James Capel Canada Inc.'s report (SEPT '97); Terry Bell of TD Securities's report (SEPT '97); Grant Ewing of Sprott Securities (OCT '97) and them Hilton Ashton of RBC Dominion Securities's report as well as two reports Hilton did for SMK in South Africa (NOV '97 and APR '98). I also had various discussions with Jeanne Jennings, Lee Barker and Nicholas Sayce and felt comfortable to pay C$17.00 a share. I also followed the advice of the experts on this site: Message 4114940 I would like to say once again, I have a substantial mining portfolio and understand the business, and all I ask from these companies is to do what they set out to do. I don't like BS. Joe.
