DD - Agree, first CMND and now SEEC. SEEC CEO statement sounds very similar to CMND CEO's - the key is "lack of urgency"
>>Ravi Koka, SEEC's President and CEO commented, ''Surprisingly, many companies still demonstrate a lack of urgency in addressing their Y2K problems, which has been reported recently by the Gartner Group and others. This lack of urgency, and timing in general, make it difficult to forecast... >> Investors and the companies are helpless, if the earnings fluctuate widely. Drifting stock price was sending us this message when we were seeking for a reason to explain the decline.
The risk of investing in the y2k sector may get worse if we consider their future business and earnings after year 2000. Not many people take the time to do their research. Does it mean that they are worthless now. Not really! I'll weather "the storm" now that these new, young companies are going through. Blaming their management does not do anything. Instead, we wish law suits to start. A major law suit against a major corporation is necessary to get the attention of the rest. I have the "gut feel" that it might happen soon.
In the meanwhile, SEEC and CMND have good cash position, business plan, products, and alliances, etc. Both SEEC and CMND are for my long term hold. If the earnings situation change, the market may boost SEEC and CMND prices in a hurry.
Wonder where Ron Sirch is lurking?
