I was unable to use the internet for the past 45 minutes, I don't know what happened.

Anyway, I just called Chicago and was told there are only about a third of the normal amount of locals there -- so the market is very thin. The expectation is that there will be fewer and fewer as the day moves on, so I am getting a bit edgy.

The word that I heard which was attributed to the State Department was that they "knew nothing" of the rumor (Yeltsin). I'm not sure what that means either.
