Trimble did take off a big way in the spring of 1995. Went from about 10 to 36 in early part of 1995. My Netscape stake did pretty well in the last two months. Another stock I hold, LHSPF, a voice recognition company (also in car navigation market) has gone from 20 (post-split) to 60 in a couple of quarters.

On the other hand, Qualcomm is at cost basis. Another company with great potential, also in RF field. Stock has practically returned nothing to its investors for the last three years.

Trimble's stock of course has been a Dog. You keep under-delivering in top and bottom line quarter after quarter and the analysts are going to leave. That of course provides a buying opportunity for the individual investor. I have made good money buying in the 10-18 range and selling around 23-24. But no exciting ride!

Funnily, the analysts do not seem to notice that Trimble's hold on the GPS market is strengthening, with no real competitor in sight.
