Hi Ed, They are for setting the amount of numbers displayed in the println statement.

ie :8:0 = 10000000 versus what ever the number might be and cause random line lengths rather than columns.

Where :8:2 would be 1000000.00 in column display.

If you place a minus, :-8:2 you would have left justify instead of right justify.
