Who are your technical colleagues? Are they associated with a telco? A vendor? A competitor? Hi Pat, They work for a large corporation which once-upon-a-time was trying to integrate ATM into their network. Stories about Newbridge's LANE implementation failing and never really working. And MPOA crashing when subject to IP multicast and other stress conditions. The Newbridge architecture is just about impossible to debug. Lots of anecdotes. One colleague who is very good with ATM switches says their basic design is suspect. I never worked with Newbridge switches myself, so I can't speak firsthand, but they have warned me to stay clear of Newbridge in the strongest terms. Not meaning to be contrary. I like NN and ASND equally. Right now I think the former has more upside potential. Perhaps, but Newbridge is strictly a value-play. It does not deserve half the valuation of Ascend. bucky89
