Brad:
This has all the makings of a great thread... and it couldn't have come at a better time. Looks like unless we go through a terrible 2Q98 earnings season the market is poised to again make new all-time highs.. some indexes already have as you know. The great advantage to the smallcaps is their little or no (with some exceptions) exposure to the Asia problems.. The RUT is definately poised for a summer rally that spells great news for the smallcap investor.

I'm beginning to paper trade (always try before going to real $$$s) a new strategy of looking at very beaten down small caps.. those that are bouncing on 52-week lows. The thought is, unless the reason for the lows is terrible (bankruptcy, etc) they probably won't stay at the lows forever.. thus, on a daily basis I look at the technicals of the stocks- many of which have P/Es in the single digits! When the technicals start to turn up, begin accumulating the stock and, hopefully, take a 1-3 point profit in a relatively short time frame (1 week - 2 months).

Thoughts on this strategy are appreciated. I'm using Worden Brothers' TC2000 as my charting too.

Anyway, good luck to all.. I hope this fast becomes an active thread!

Have a safe and happy Holiday,
Mike
