Folks:

I don't quite know what to make of it, but just today, as an Oracle Dev Tool User Group (ODTUG) member (though I no longer use the tools), I received a "preview" version of Oracle AppBuilder for Java V1.0 -- featuring what appears to be JBuilder *1.0* (Readme file says AppBuilder includes JDK 1.1.4, that JFC1.1 "just released" and needs JDK 1.1.5, problems running Swing and so forth.)

I had been wondering what Oracle was doing with JBuilder. At this point it's not clear to me why developers would want to obtain Oracle versions of outdated Borland/Inprise/Sun products, rather than the more recent JB2.
