How IDX live-scan is doing in Ohio these days . . .
According to the Cleveland Plain Dealer (6/30), there are sixty IDX live scan machines in Ohio right now. The Lorain County sheriff's office is getting one installed in a few weeks. Cost: $46,000. Paid for by federal grant money. Retail: $70,000 (but who pays retail?). A bit more interestingly, according to the Dayton Daily news (in the last week), Huber Heights, Ohio is also getting an IDX machine, one of 23 jurisdictions in the State to get a live scan. The system "will reduce the fingerprinting time requirements from upwards of 30 minutes to less than five minutes." That may be a bit optimistic.
Anyway, here's the real point: $46,000 times 60 = Ohio TP-600 revenues received are about $2,760,000. $46,000 times 23 = upcoming Ohio TP-600 revenues of about $1,058,000. |
