rudedog,
Maybe you don't know how to read, or maybe you don't like what it is you're reading... The article re: J. Crew is a common example of how Solaris is beating the shit out of NT in the enterprise marketplace. You can spin it any way you want, but the sum total of performance, price, reliability, and brand are there for you to read in black-and-white. I didn't make it up, it's hard evidence of SUNW's superiority.
Since you concede that SUNW's 450 is a better machine than anything in the PC market, you fall back on the arguement that CPQ is selling so many units compared to the 450 that quality doesn't matter. So, wiseguy, how many of CPQ's unit sales were for their "inexpensive" Proliant's that somehow cost more than $30,000 a pop (NOT including software). Futhermore, how many were in direct competition with the 450?? The 450 and low cost Ultras were introduced to the market last November and, so far, have been back-ordered.
Since your head seems to be as thick as mozek's, I'll say it again: hardware is NOT the battleground of the future, it's software and support that are the key & SUNW wins hands down. They've been doing it longer and have a better track record than ANY PC vendor, especially in enterprise computing.
BTW, my posts have contained references to news articles that constitute hard evidence of my claims. All I get from you is your opinion & unsubstantiated claims about sales figures etc. Instead of using your big mouth, why don't you show some hard evidence of your claims for a change. If you don't I'm going to stop replying to your posts. |
