We are very fortunate that wild mercury mostly goes to the assorted ionic forms and very littel goes to methyl mercury. If it suddenly started to do this it would wipe the earth clean of all higher forms as there is loads of ionic mercury out there.
I am not sure what makes the mthyl mercury, bugs or what?
