BOOMERANG TRACKING SYSTEM - ARRESTS MADE MONTREAL, July 02 /CNW/ - The following release was delayed at the request of the Ontario Provincial Police force in order not to jeopardize their investigation. Friday June 12 1998, an All Terrain Vehicle (ATV) was reported stolen in London Ontario. The ATV was equipped with a Boomerang tracking system. Using Boomerang's technology and Bell Mobility's cellular network the vehicle was tracked to a rural area between St-Thomas and Dutton, Ontario. The Ontario Provincial Police responded and quickly obtained a search warrant which was executed at 1:00 pm on June 12, 1998. The search resulted in the recovery of the ATV, prohibited fire arms, ammunition and a hydroponics operation set up for cultivating marijuana. Arrests were made and the investigation is ongoing.
