BOOMERANG - THREE SUSPECTS ARRESTED
MONTREAL, June 30, /CNW/ - On Monday, June 29, 1998, at 8:15 a.m., a 1992 GMC Top Kick commercial truck was reported stolen and last seen the previous day. The vehicle was equipped with a Boomerang tracking system. Using Boomerang's technology and Bell Mobility's cellular network, the vehicle was tracked via helicopter to 30 kilometers south of Ormstown, Quebec. The MUC Police with the help of the QPP sought and obtained search warrants for the property. At 4:05 p.m., the MUC Police along with the Quebec provincial police and Boomerang's air support, conducted a raid on the property arresting three suspects, discovering stolen vehicle parts for over 50 vehicles and heavy equipment products. It is estimated the total value in stolen parts to be over $250,000.
