Bob, this is one of a number of negative comments that you and others have made regarding the fact that Dave posts to the thread.
Well, some of us like him posting here. I appreciate the fact that he is not one of the many CEOs who will tell you anything they think you want to hear on the phone while snickering, knowing that you can't use a tape of the call in court. Every word Dave posts here is recorded, dated, and archived. It's on record, and I like that. I give him full marks in communication skills, very few have huevos like that.
There's an unspoken note in some of these negative comments that seem to criticize him for not doing an objective critical analysis of the stock as an investment. Well, that is not his job - he is the Prez, and the geologist, period. Of course he is going to be optimistic as long as he retains enough personal optimism to keep on going out there and doing the job.
But that doesn't take away from the fact that what he posts here is useful information, a viable part of any critical analysis, and an infinitely better communication with the shareholders than the great majority of companies out there, imho. |
