steve, David, everyone.....

What a great scoop!

California School Districts......$34,000 machines....100 available now....all 58 counties by year end......Hmmmmm. Yup! Another Wendell for you, Buckaroo!

Here is the good part......
Lungren says more than 100 Live Scan terminals presently are available to school districts through the state, including three in Sacramento County, and that all 58 counties will be on line by the end of the year.

(remember that some small school districts who hire few people will use county machines......but small counties who have a few school districts but no live scan....will get one through the state.)

Add this information to what we already know about Los Angeles.....and we may find that it is a large number of TP-600....to be installed by the end of the year.......This deal says that all 58 counties will be on line by the end of the year.

The idea that IDX will have so many machines covering California is very good......Pending confirmation, I believe these are IDX machines.

Identix may have something to say about all of this soon. California seems to set the trends for the rest of the nation. This is good....and there is no RatMan problem here......Excellent use of the technology. The industry should play it up!...Balloons, Huli-Huli.

Picking through the bits and pieces of the $750 million EDS/INS contract may reveal some scraps for IDX..(live scan and workstation....# 1 and #2...says the legend)....Anyone else notice that the 106k buy came the day Lockheed popped the news...and then took it back? I think this deal has been in the works for months....and that subcontractors have not been allowed to say anything about it until the monster award announcements by CS, Lockheed and EDS. Lockheed jumped the gun by a day....but everything is fine now.......The contract has been announced by all three.

I could be that subcontractors may now discuss their piece of it....if they have a piece of it......and feel like discussing it.

I think this could be why IDX is headed up again. Multiple announcements of large orders could do wonders for IDX. A California Schools deal may be more powerful than many might think. Lots of school districts in the United States......and they are getting more security minded.....as I'm sure many have noticed.

The INS moving quickly?....Pinch me...it must be a dream.
