Hi Jim: It works fine when I try it. I can think of two reasons why it may not be working for your friend.

First, the input needs changing. It can't be run with input="commplus.lst" unless you already have that list. You'll need to remove that line or put slashes in front of it:

//input="commplus.lst";

If you remove the line, the whole database will be scanned. Or you could create the list called commplus with this scan by Bob Jagow:

//Common Stock Filter, by Bob Jagow

output = "commplus.lst";

IssueType Common;

If Max(0, -5, Cl) > 0 then
Println symbol,",",SIC:-5,",",Beta:5:3,",",Description:-20;
endif;

The other reason the scan might not be working is because your friend may have cut and pasted the scan, and errors may have been introduced with some bad line wraps. The way to get around this is to download the scan. (There are instructions on how to do this at the Web site.)

I hope one of these suggestions works. If not, let me know.

Brooke
