Tyan mobos

The Tyan manual indicates that one must use Tyan or Tyan approved cables. Do Tyan cables have different configurations or is this Tyan trying to protect themselves. Do they have a list of approved cables??

from the manual

Note: Only TYAN cables will work on this motherboard. If you are using an existing case with old cables, your system will not function properly. Use only TYAN-approved cables.

I have been looking for boards with more than 4 PCI slots.

I noted that Tyan's onboard sound (I don't remember the board) used one shared IRQ. The The Turtle Beach Daytona PCI uses two.
