This is not true. They were positioned to do a secondary offering but never elected to pull the trigger.

now, you say you doubt WSTL can produce at a lower cost that ALA. that may have been true in the past, but i think the cost model has shifted in favor of integrators, and away from vertically integrated solutions..

You have not convinced me. Fact is Alcatel is the only one who bakes their own bread from scratch.

a lack of dependence on anyone can be good if your products and cost structure are the best. i dont think ALAs are.

To act as devils advocate, I could also make the same statement about Westell but such conjecture gets us nowhere. This brings us back to the fact that AL bakes his own bread and WES does not.
