Rishi,

Yes, I do own USRX.

The point about software upgradability relates to the product transition issue, and first to market.

The fact is that if you are shopping for a modem today or more accurately from now till when Rockwell has its chip set ready, you will be more likely to buy a USRX. Why? because it is software upgradable to 56k. Why buy a rockwell based one now that you will have to throw away latter? Rockwell's 56 k modem will prob. be software upgradable , but that is not the point. It is the racer to see who can get the biggest market share.

Can you explain what you mean by the X2 marketing hype? Does one modem standard work better than the other? It looks like the hype is comming more from the rockwell camp with all the vapor ware annoucements.

Let me ask you, will you wait to buy a rockwell based 56 k modem?
