>> Something else I'd like to see is a "count" function. Loop the scan back 200 days, count the number of condition occurrences, and output the results. For instance:
1. Set count = 0 2. Loop back for 200 days 3. For [conditions=blah, blah, blah] count = count+1 4. Println count
Those of us with a penchant for statistical analysis could then take some comfort that the odds of certain occurrences were on our side. <<
Brookelise has given you one answer to this question. However, when I asked this question in post 3871.
>>However, does Quotes Plus Release 2 have the capability to calculate some statistics for these type of lists?. In particular mean, median, average percentage change, and percentage of stocks increasing in price. With long list like these one needs a way to quickly summarize results and compare strategies.<<
I then received this reply from Bob Jagow in post 3874.
>>Release 2 has *no* capability to calculate statistics, Howard, because all variables are reinitialized for each symbol. In 'C' terms, all variables are auto rather than static [global].<<
Notice the phrase "all variables are reinitialized for each symbol". I interpret this to mean Brookelise's method will work for one stock but will not work for multiple stocks. |
