looking on the bright side of things..... geac has a good track record of beating the estimates. this quarter (4th) the estimate is $.65, which is the same as their earnings in the fourth quarter last year. my point,... this might not be a difficult estimate to beat.... and it's only two days off. last quarter they hit their targets and the stock price dropped. but last quarter the "whisper" targets were much higher. further, last quarter investors were on their toes waiting to get "rocked" forward. instead they got rocked backwards. this time investors are already on their heals..... in a time when the price of many stocks moves in anticipation (and release) of quarterly results, geac will release two sets of quarterly results in the next two months. (july 7th and approx. sept 9th). the next two months should be active! if you accept that sadler (geac) will complete another big acquisition, the more time that goes by without a deal, the sooner it is until there is a deal. the upside is good; the downside appears protected. the average 12 month target price for the stock is more than 40% above the current price.... and the target prices don't include a premium for potential acquisitions. further, at the current price, assuming the company hits it target earnings, it will be trading at a multiple of 19 times trailing earnings - pretty safe. the summer rally has started. there has been talk of a u.s. listing for over a year now. it could come via an acquisition; it could come on its own.
