[Current Plans] Hello everybody. Here is the latest
update on the San Antonio YEEHAAAA reunion. Carole is planning a
super duper home cooked Mexican dinner (picnic) on Friday night.
Word has it that she is a magnificent cook, so don't miss this!
Several of the people on the committee (and a few others) will
arrive Thursday night or early Friday morning to help Carole with
the dinner on Friday night. We will also have a lot of fun, a lot
of catching up and renewing old (and NEW) friendships on Friday
night. On Saturday we will have several seminars (to be
announced), but at the present time we will have Dough R (TA of course), David J. (magnets), David H (DeMark), Fatherof will present the powertoolsof if new Babyof and Motherof are up to the trip. Oh yes, and our own Padre (Al Greenleaf) will be in charge of Benediction services. No, he's not getting out of it!! However, I did hear that he asked someone what Benediction was....hmmm. We'll let him figure it out. I think he said something about the Hail Mary Rock (ought to be good since he doesn't know the Hail Mary from the Our Father!)
We plan to work hard on Saturday but hopefully we will be finished early Saturday afternoon (for the Benediction services). Then maybe some sightseeing, shopping (Redhead), or just the river walk. We are not going to plan the river boat dinner on Saturday night because we have to reserve the boats and cannot get everyone on one boat. So.............. Carole (bless her) will find us a great restaurant and make reservations down on the river walk - more about that later.
On Sunday it will be more talking and we will plan a golf outing and sightseeing (or for some of us - just a lot more talking and fun). Hopefully most of you can plan to go home late Sunday night or early Monday morning. In Annapolis, most of us went home early Sunday afternoon and it would have been nice to have that extra time.
I'll be sending out a registration form to all of you sometime
early next week. The cost will be $75.00 for renting the seminar
rooms, Friday night dinner and MargaritaBonitas, continental breakfast Saturday morning and a luncheon on Saturday. Saturday night we will each pay for our meals. We decided that would be the easiest way to handle it.
About Hotel reservations.......... there are two options. The
Doubletree and the Holiday Inn Express. They are within a block
of each other. We will be using the Doubletree bar (for Joe of
course). If we don't get 25 reservations at the Doubletree, we may
not get the best rate - but our inclination is that it will not be
much more than $95.00 per night. The Holiday Inn Express should
be in the $50.00 per night range. We will send the phone number
of the hotels with the registration form and each of you is
responsible for making reservations. Please do so PDQ as the
hotels fill up quickly during that time of the year.
Now.................... we are planning this for all of YOU.
I'll also post all the confirmed and maybe attendees next week. We have about 30 people - and maybe a few more. Several new names on the list which is just super.
Hope I didn't leave anything out. If I did, Carole will let me
know.
