Ripe firm titties? As usual, your post is challenging and hurtful all at the same time, George. Let's see, I'm not sure where to begin.
You may have thought I was insulting you with the stuff about your motivations in choosing a Chinese mail order bride, but I was really concerned that you didn't end up used and abandoned, which is a frequent occurrence. You say that you want a reciprocal relationship, but that seems difficult if you speak different languages, and share no life experiences. If by reciprocal, you mean that you support her and she accommodates you sexually and does the housework, that seems like it would work out okay in terms of the mutual benefit you desire. To me, the arrangement comes very close to prostitution, but some people would argue that all marriages are like that.
You claim that you are not rebelling against becoming rusted, but everything you write about American women in your own age group gives you away in the images you choose. Women in their fifties and sixties are a very diverse population, growing older. Don't you think it is somewhat limiting in terms of your own vision, to stereotype them? The women I know in that age group are just as unique and individualistic as anyone else. Would you want to be evaluated as failing because your body is no longer perfect? Aren't there other things that are more important? What about friendship and companionship? I find that as I grow older, these become more and more meaningful in romantic relationships.
Penni and I are not battling senility, incidentally. I think we are both so sensitive that the slightest tinges of the aging process give us pause. I think it is better to talk about those than worry alone about them. Suffice to say, I think we both have enough brain cells to lose quite a few and still be perfectly fine.
The key to understanding Libertarians is that they are totally selfish. There is an argument to be made that if everyone is selfish, the strong will survive, and the weak will perish, and that as a result the species itself will become stronger. Some Libertarians even make the argument that vaccination is wrong, because people who are physically weak survive, and reproduce, as its result. We have definitely done a lot of tinkering with species survival. Has this perhaps made us weak as a species? We have billions of people who are not very strong, and cannot support themselves, overpopulating the earth.
It seems to me that a little part of what you are saying is that there is too much freedom of expression at Feelings. Do you believe in the First Amendment? Of course it your choice not to read posts, or threads, because they are disturbing to you, but I find no benefit in any system where only certain opinions are tolerated, so I pretty much like it here the way it is.
I think almost everyone who has experienced the positives and negatives of spending a lot of time on the computer has looked through someone they cared about who was trying to communicate with them. Particularly if you are concentrating on writing something and are interrupted in mid-thought, it is difficult to change channels in your mind so quickly. The point of my writing about that was to explore the phenomenon, and examine what is the healthy balance of 3D and concrete reality. Certainly, there is a benefit to be derived from communicating in cyber space, but too much is really too much, and can ruin lives. This is a new medium, and I definitely think the topic is worth talking about. I realize my openness makes me vulnerable to attack, but really it is a primitive response to do so. |
