Bill, another similar use of Video on Demand may be found
in our courts. Here in Ocala, FL, our court house is in
the center of town and the county jail is on the outskirts
of town. In the past when First Appearances were done, the
prisoners were loaded up in busses and transported to the
court house and into the court room, all under guard.
(I believe first appearances are an appearance before a
judge usually on the following day after arrest and they
are formally advised of their arrest and charges. This is
one of the procedures that has to be done.)
Well this can get fairly expensive and time consuming as
well as the possibility of an escape.
So our court system installed some type of closed circuit T.V.
system so the judge can carry this out from the court house
and the prisoner will appear from a room inside the jail.
This type of system also requires maintenance, repair,
modernizing and upgrading of the system, etc.
If this would be one of the services FNTN offers just think
of how many courts and jails we have in the U.S. and the
amount of revenue they could generate here just for this
one procedure.

live in Ormond Beach. 100,000 evacuated there. Wish I
could do a rain dance for them. The slogan here in Florida
