Richard,
"stability (my machine hardly ever crashes now), "
I would like my machine to NEVER crash!

While I can agree that Win98 may solve a few nagging problems that Win95 is prone too. I hardly think Win98 is OS of choice. At first I was excited about Win98, but after reading a few interesting articles I am now convinced that I will load NT 5.0 when released.

One of the more interesting points is in order to fully enhance Win98 you should perform a CLEAN install. This means DELETING all your programs and start from scratch. If most users are like me I have a boat-load of programs, some shareware and most CD-ROM. It could take me 4-5 hours of de-installing and reinstalling to my liking.
I also have witnessed the case of Win98 drivers... The product is so new, there are cases you might be out of luck!
MSFT has been a good company, but I hardly think the public wants an OS that will become obsolete in 2000 when Merced (Intel Chipsets)are the game in town.
I'll wait and load NT 5.0
