Hi, Michael! I think another title for a housedad is Mr. Mom, like in the movie. That was a very funny one, if I recall correctly. The thing about women staying home with children is really a difficult one. If it seems a little abnormal for them to work, like in the fifties and sixties in America, then a lot of women are forced to stay in abusive marriages, etc. because they have no viable economic alternative. On the other hand, for most families, it is really preferable for the stability of the family and the nurturing of children to have the mom at home, at least when the children are small.
I personally think the feminist idea of a lot of women with children in the workplace is a vast social experiment which has been a disaster. There is just no way to be several places at once, and families where both parents work full time exist in a very speeded up and chaotic atmosphere, for the most part. But I think women should work if they want to, and that they definitely deserve equal pay. I don't think they should feel trapped because of economic dependence on men.
