Another point is that since those ROK based ISPs need to change their hardware to support either 56 k standard anyway, some of them may decide to go with USRX, especially if their customers demand it (i.e. to be interoperable with X2). Therefore, USRX has nothing to lose but stands to gain market share either way you look at it. The real war is really in the concentrator business where there is better margin. If I am an ascend shareholder, I would be a little nervous. I remember USRX said in its conference call that they are outselling Ascend in the access concentrator business. And now with the X2 momentum.

USRX should be announcing its succesful conclusion of field trial soon, according to their previously announced schedule. Of course if both sides decided to scrafice profit for market share, then all of us are in trouble.
