As I speak nothing but English and popular foreign phrases, I'm not qualified to judge the effectiveness of either method. I just thought it should be pointed out in fairness that there are lots of arguments out there for both sides---as there always are. CGB mentions the politics of Unz, but to me that's all irrelevant. Both sides play politics seriously and for high stakes. We need to look at results. or perhaps consider that both have merits, with effectiveness related to different types of learning styles, home situations, etc.

I always get tense here because I feel as if things polarize so quickly and I hate disagreements. A favorite quote:

Do not condemn the judgment of another because it differs from your own. You could both be wrong.
