Brian and all,

For reference, fourth quarter expectations are found at:

stocksmart.com:8810/ss-news/CX310010.html

Was this announced after the bell? GTIS rallied nicely today, then came right down at the close, but the market was selling off so I didn't worry too much about it. Would you believe that I had an order in to sell at 13 just before it went to 12 3/4? (I didn't get filled.)
Maybe the "sell off" on GTIS was the reaction to the announcement if it was released before the close or maybe the news was leaking out prior to the announcement after the bell?

Net revenues for this quarter over same period in '95 are up by 10-20%, per the announcement, but I can't find the analysts' estimates as I don't subscribe to First Call, etc., obviously the street is looking for much more. For the 9 months ending 9/30/96 reported net sales & net income were up 77% & 113% respectively over same period in '95. Seems to me that a 10-20% increase for Q4 alone would be perhaps a little on the soft side, if you extrapolate out the earnings by quarter. I'll bet that the analysts were looking for an increase of at least 25%, just my guess.

Does anyone know the actual estimates? In any event, I am terribly upset that I didn't get out today at 13, or even at the close! I just figured that it would stabilize or even bounce tomorrow, after the sell-off, not knowing about the news release, but obviously, we are in for a dump.

Any comments or advice is appreciated. I'm in at 11 3/4, btw. Considering selling at market tomorrow, assuming that it tanks off the open. Would anyone hold through this dump, hoping for the earnings release to not be as negative as predicted? Is there a possiblity that the upcoming dump will stabilize quickly, and the stock could reverse?

Those of you who've played this one before, hopefully before earnings, please post! Thanks very much. Good luck to us all, we're gonna need it, I'm afraid. :(

Brian, thanks for alerting us with your informative post. At least I'm ready for the worst, and it won't catch me by surprise. :)

Vicki
