Gator, the most common element was that the company was already on the rope.

I would suggest that an avenue of investigation should be to find out who owns those floorless convertible and see if these people were involved before in such stratagemes.

The fact that "officially" no shorting can occur until a given date did not help CTYS, where one tranche was not supposed to come into play until March this year and the stock started o collapse in January.

If you find common owners of these floorless with other floorless were the floorless managed to, in essence take control or drastically reduce the stake of the current commons.

AKSEF had close to $80 MM in cash when the vultures started to circle around it and brought it from 6 to 2, so money in the bank is no assurance. That is all I can say. I hear from your post that there are great beliefs of quantities of oils down there (and the same Strain outfit also claimed that AKSEF had "probably" between 5 to 13 billion barrels, so do not take their guesses too seriously). What proof is there?
