To All

Hope this question has not been answered but there are just too many posts to go through. In the latest Gilder Technology Report, George discusses the victory of CDMA. He seems to say that the mighty Q wins even if W-CDMA is the standard adopted in Europe rather than IS-95. Clearly, part of the "victory" is that it vindicates those that have stood firmly behind the viability of CDMA. I want to know, however, how the victory leads to revenue. Specifically, is W-CDMA possible without the Q's participation? Can ERICY and others produce the equipment (handsets, base stations etc.) necessary for W-CDMA without the participation (e.g. the technical know-how) of the Q AND without infringing on QCOM patents?

Thanks in advance
