Eric,

Interesting post, all the chatter about Informix US against Oracle US,
cartridges/datablades etc, reminds me of the religious db wars of the mid 80s. Yes I remember them well.

Your point is well made, and proven by history. It takes a lot more than product to succeed, ie marketing, channel, market demand, pr etc etc, something that Informix appears to have a long way to go on.
