SANTA CLARA, Calif., July 6 /PRNewswire/ -- Highlighting the growing industry demand for its Savage3D(TM) accelerator, S3(R) Incorporated (Nasdaq: SIII - news) today announced that Diamond Multimedia Systems, Inc. (Nasdaq: DIMD - news) has selected Savage3D as the basis for a new high-performance graphics add-in card.
Targeted to be available for the Christmas '98 buying season, this retail and OEM graphics solution brings a new level of 3D performance and multimedia capabilities to market with Savage3D's Microsoft-endorsed texture compression technology, highly optimized AGP 2X interface, industry-first single cycle trilinear filtering and high-quality video/DVD playback.

Savage3D outperforms all shipping 3D accelerators in AGP performance, trilinear mip-mapping, texture compression and DVD/video processing.
