I called Diane Lefebvre at AVE. This is what she told me. Earnings will be out after the close July 20th. Any rumor about a JNJ acquisition is just a rumor. Diane and I discussed just how great a deal the acquisition of Cordis was for Cordis(NOT!). AVE wants to go it alone and why wouldn't they! AVEI is certainly looking to broaden their product line through acquisitions of their own. They certainly will not be making 10 to 12 actual acquisitions but there will be more deals besides just the one that was done with World Medical. She was very pleased to point out that AVE has signed all their recent deals like the one with Tenet despite the fact that they do not bundle their stent products. The company is making a great product in strong demand. biz.yahoo.com It's my belief that AVE is definitely in the drivers seat in the stent market.
