Philosophically one cannot deny the prime mover. It is impossible, if time started at an instant (It could not be infinite or everything possible would already have happened unless their was an infinity of things that could happen and will happen in an infinitely varying way, which would require a law of variance, an impossible situation of imperative action not natural!) for there not to be something that actuated the whole matter and even if that were a button push then it is the thing we speak about about which no one could fathom the nature of, or a better proof of a guiding spirit would exist.

So we need a start to time and an existence before time. If you say it obeys natural law it is not a denial as a natural energy or existence that always evolved as matter of predictible course to the all wise observer is still a being of sorts. Let's say god would be energy vortices that could manifest as matter and reform as energy (as we understand matter and energy. Disallow all magics and let it flow by a natural course. It is still possible since that energy evolves to an apparent self realizing intelligence and apparent free will exercising being or group of beings that it is actuated by something that could be called a godhead. If you wish to name the ineffable something that lies at the root of time and matter. One could not create an unnatural world that would require magical maintenance. It would be too much energy to run. Besides lets say god is a lazy lout and wishes to be left alone for a few millenia as his fungi breed and play. He would not want a world that would require his will to maintain. It would be artificial. Not a good creation. So he built a long running toy. Of course it is himself. He created himself. Tough
job, but somebody had to do it.

Existence in itself requires a non-existence for it to be at all good.
Imagine all being as a void of no dimension. Quite difficult to entertain except perhaps as the size of some posters on SI's brains.

hmmmm.. no closer to understanding life than when I was born.
