CULVER CITY, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--July 6, 1998--MediaX Corp. (OTC:MXMX) Monday announced that after meeting with the representatives of the George Orwell estate and the executive producers of the movie "1984" in London last week, that the estate and the executive producers have both fully approved the project, waiving any further reviews. MediaX is looking forward to possibly tying MediaX's "Big Brother" production into activities planned by the estate and the publishers of the original film and book for the potential worldwide re-release of the book and the film during 1998 and 1999. More specific plans for re-releases are currently being explored. "Big Brother" executive producers Marvin Rosenblum (also the producer of the film "1984") and John Tarnoff, who brokered the rights agreement with the estate of George Orwell in London for MediaX, issued the following statement: " We are extremely gratified by the continuing support of the Orwell estate as the development of the "Big Brother" game nears completion. "Their support reflects the absolutely magnificent job that MediaX has done in executing what we believe will be a stunning, entertaining and suspenseful real-time, 3-D adventure game on CD-ROM that captures the true essence of the word 'Orwellian' and sets itself strongly apart from any other game currently on the market." "Big Brother" has recently been introduced to a very enthusiastic response from the media and the public alike at E3 in Atlanta, the world's largest electronic-entertainment show in the fast-growing, highly profitable multimedia industry. "The entertainment value and the leading-edge technology of this challenging and chilling interactive real-time, 3-D adventure game is bound to find an enormous reception worldwide," said Nancy Poertner, president of MediaX. "We are absolutely thrilled that the Orwell estate is so impressed with our production work that they have waved any additional approval rights they had contractually secured and given us free range to complete this adventure game for a timely release in autumn. "Selling over 40 million copies, this novel is the second-best- selling book of the century and continues to sell at a rate of 500,000 copies per year, the Orwellian vision today more applicable than ever," continued Poertner. An extensive marketing campaign, including traditional marketing instruments and several very aggressive on-line and radio campaigns in the truly Orwellian spirit will create a "buzz" for the product long before its planned release in autumn 1998 and will assure a large audience eagerly awaiting this unusual entry into the real-time, 3-D adventure world. An accompanying Web site will be launched within the next few weeks to introduce users to the first impressions of this unusual, suspenseful and dangerous new world.
