I just got off the phone with my contact who got back from China recently. He said both plants and all look good. Pinnacle sells Chinese products all over the world.
Pinnacle is working on a number of orders for the plastics plant, and will bring all of it's plastics business to the plant. The plastics plant has been around for awhile and gets orders regularly from all over Asia and was doing around $3M/yr coming into the Beacon deal. The plastics plant is currently producing tuppaware type containers for a Norway company and pens (3 types) and other items (capacity for 15 items currently).
Jerry was a no nonsense business man there in China. He didn't want to go site seeing when offered by the Chinese, but preferred to go directly to the PC Monitor plant. Also Beacon Director, Yip, proved invaluable to the trip since he knows 2 chinese dialects and has his PHD on computer field, thus his translation with the Chinese made for
smooth negotiations. Things are going well, but no definite time for closing the deal, but should be soon. Jerry and company are still in China. The monitor plant currently makes 500 monitors/day w/capacity of approx. 1400/ day. It is an old Wang monitor plant that sells a lot in China now, and has accounts all over the world. He was very happy with what he saw and feels a lot better (now that he has actually seen the plants) with his substantial investments in Beacon and with recommnending Beacon to his associates. Nuff for now.
