I have been following AVEI very closely lately. Ever since they announced that they were looking at as many as 10 to 12 possible acquisition choices. I really like this company and the stock is looking better all the time. Recently JNJ announced that they were looking at acquiring a company in the cardiovascular healthcare area. Naturally one might assume that AVEI could be that company. Well since rumors to that effect were flying fast and furious over at the Yahoo thread I decided to call AVE myself and see if there was any teeth to the rumor. Here is what I found out and posted on the AVEI thread: I called Diane Lefebvre at AVE. This is what she told me. Earnings will be out after the close July 20th. Any rumor about a JNJ acquisition is just a rumor. Diane and I discussed just how great a deal the acquisition of Cordis was for Cordis(NOT!). AVE wants to go it alone and why wouldn't they! AVEI is certainly looking to broaden their product line through acquisitions of their own. They certainly will not be making 10 to 12 actual acquisitions but there will be more deals besides just the one that was done with World Medical. She was very pleased to point out that AVE has signed all their recent deals like the one with Tenet despite the fact that they do not bundle their stent products. The company is making a great product in strong demand. biz.yahoo.com It's my belief that AVE is definitely in the drivers seat in the stent market.
