How can time dilate. And if has and end it must have a beginning.
All vectors have direction and distance.

If time were infinite then it would stretch infinitely into the past
and an infinity of possible happenings that were possible would already have happened. That means if you can stand this so close to after eating that an infinite number of Bill Jacksons have lived as well as an infinite number of almost Bill Jacksons and everything in both directions therefrom. such an infinitude of existences and possibilities HAD to have happened within infinite time. To continue this then all that remains to happen is a REPETITION of those infinite things which will take for infinity to play out then after that it will repeat itself infinitely. So infinite time is unlikely. Unless you accept a law of infinite variance. And that seems unlikely according to any interpretation of natural law as the degree of variance seems finite with finite resources. If resources were infinite then energy would be infinite and gravity would be infinite and the universe would be infinitely hot(bright) and contracting with infinite speed. this in itself is impossible as one energy negates the other.

One thing is possible is that this universe is expanding for the nth time after contracting n times and imploding. so how many ancestor multiverse we have had is moot.

How will it end. Well since gravity is finite and energy will play out to zero, what will be left is a maximally expanded uni with a modicum of gravity and the pull of gravity will have eventually stopped the expansion. The speed is finite and the gravity will eventually stop the expansion. Then gradually and faster and faster everything will contract and reheat by contraction. This can be proved by measuring the rate of slowing of the rate of expansion which must be marginal but measurable as F=ma. the F is the average gravity and the mass is the uni mass. Acceleration has to be negative. No matter how far the thing goes it has to stop with a gravity left. The gravity will be less but finite.
